History

Monica and Jim Johnson started Montiques in a historic house turned retail on Main Street in downtown Pineville, NC in 1993. Items sold were mostly antiques and collectibles obtained mostly from the East Coast. We quickly outgrew our building and in 1994 moved to South Boulevard in Charlotte where we added consignment to our collection. Throughout the years, we have been involved in as well as sold at Estate Sales, Shows, Ebay, Auctions as well as Retail. In 2016 we partnered with the Shelby Antiques Market where we offered individual rentable spaces to vendors. Although we have a great appreciation for every style, one special interest for Monica has always been Vintage European and Hollywood Glamour Style. You can find many items representing this passion in the Shop as well as other designs too!

As we change with the times, we are including an “online estate sale” as well as on site estate sale venue. We have seen this as a need and a great opportunity for everyone to have the ability to attend a sale without ever having to leave home. From the comfort of your computer, you can compete on equal footing with dealers and the public without having to stand in line before the sun comes up in order to be first to purchase.

 

We offer A La Carte services which means that based on your needs, we will do as little or as much as you need. Whether you choose to sell a single item or an entire household, we can make it happen. We can help you with the pricing of your items if you want to do your own sale or we will host the sale for you.
