Vintage Romantic Italian Grandeur Baroque Cherub Marble Top Console with Mirror

Be still my heart!! If you love romantic old world grandeur, it doesn’t get any better than this fabulous vintage heavily carved French Style marble top console with mirror…this fabulous table with mirror was made in Italy as marked on the back and is most likely from the 1940 – 1960 era and so typical of the romantic baroque Italian Style Creations…the console has a cherub on each side of the front base and appears to be supporting the floral swags with swirls with columns base with marble top – the lower back side of the console has a mirror framed in matching scolling carved in a ribbon design…the mirror adorns the top with more of the same gorgeous swirled columns, shells, flowers and floral swags, a pineapple oval shape at the top center, and 2 sweet cherubs at the top and 2 cherubs at the sides of the base exerting much effort to appear as to be holding the mirror upright…the lower part of the carved mirror frame is carved outwards and gives the appearance of cascading on top of the marble..the actual mirror is somewhat rectangular in shape and arches at the top and can be seen behind the ornate frame.
The patina is drop dead lovely on this piece!! Dark beige with wonderful pale hues of pinkish red, blues, slight aqua, greens, browns…Antique wash in dark gold accentuates every crevice in the detail and throughout the years has taken on that special Old World Loveliness.
With the mirror attached, the total height is 96″
The mirror secures to the table with 4 screws on separate wood pieces attached.
There are some slight small chippy areas around the front edge of the marble and a small chip at back side corner of the marble but not noticeable and typical with vintage wear.
With the painting and composition of the pieces, there is a light crackling effect overall with antique washing and perhaps polychrome technique which creates the distressed beauty that it is so there may be some minor paint worn areas but nothing that distracts from the loveliness of this beauty!
63″ wide and 16.5″ deep. Marble is a matching ecru color with beautiful tan veining. Removable from top for shipping.
